Tikkun Olam: I am My Brother’s Keeper
Temple Shir Shalom continues to fulfill our commitment to Tikkun Olam as we serve from 100-150 men, women and children the dinner we prepare.
We will be serving dinner at Pilgrim Church, “I am My Brother’s Keeper” Ministry on Trumbull & Brainard in Detroit.
WE NEED YOU.
Each member of Temple Shir Shalom can help in this endeavor. This is an ongoing commitment that we have made to directly support the Shelter on the fourth Thursday every other month.
We need people to help prepare the food. We need people to drive (carpool style) to the church on our Thursday. And we need people to serve dinner. If you are unable to participate directly you can still help with a simple donation that we will use to purchase food and the non-perishable goods needed to serve these meals.
A donation of $36.00, double chai, serves ten people.
Families are welcome to do this important work together (though it is requested that children be ten years old or older). Please help us with this hands-on project as we work to heal our city.
If you can help or have questions, please contact Charlotte Milgrim @ (248) 669-3565 or via email at BloodyMercedes@aol.com.
We Need You.
