The Rabbis' Tish

Question:
You once mentioned that there were (13?) people living at all times that were angels? I would love for you to explain this again..as you can see, I've forgotten the details and am SO interested in knowing.
Thank you,
Flo
Answer:
There is a story from the Hasidic tradition of the lamed vavniks, which is the Hebrew of the number 36 - twice 18 and 18 is the number representing Chai, meaning life. According to the tradition, there are 36 perfectly just souls on this earth at one time, always 36. If one should die, immediately that soul appears in the birth of another individual. These individuals, however, do not know that they are lamed vavniks, nor do we know that who are the lamed vavniks. Therefore, we should treat everyone we meet, including ourselves, as if we could be one of these 36. Even more, the world is sustained by their presence - and if one of them is no longer a part of our world, then our world would be destroyed. So - treat each other well!

Question:
who is responsible for this GREAT (finally!@@@) web site.

Question:
During the Tish after services this morning, a gentleman inquired about a "second Pesach" he had read about.

I am wondering now if he may perhaps have been referring to Pesach Sheni, the ìsecondî Pesach which falls on the 14th of Iyar. My reading indicates that this was a second chance to make the Paschal Offering for those who could not do so in the proper time through no fault of their own. This could be due to ritual impurity from contact with a corpse or being in a distant place, with reference to Numbers 9:6-13.
Answer:
That is correct. It looking at the text together after services, we realized that was the reference. Good research!
