Proudly Supporting the Efforts of These Organizations
💚 CARE House of Oakland County

💚 Metro Food Rescue
Rescues food that would otherwise be discarded and delivers it to a network of food pantries thereby helping to feed individuals and families in need.
💚 Scholarships for Shir Shalom's Religious School
Scholarships provide financial aid, so all Shir Shalom students from preschool through high school can enroll in our our Hebrew and Judaic education program, SHORESH.
💚 Young Adult Group of Shir Shalom
Amateur Cooks
We invite you to share your culinary skills and special chicken soup with our community at our 11th Annual Chicken Soup Cook-off on Sunday, February 4, 2024 at Temple Shir Shalom.
We expect 500+ happy hungry people to walk through our doors and enjoy the fruits of your efforts to support the four deserving organizations listed above. Your soup will be judged by our stellar panel of judges in a variety of categories along with the "People's Choice Award," which will be selected by votes of all the Cook-off guests.
In addition to feeding those who walk through our doors on February 4, each entrant should bring one additional gallon of soup in a non-returnable, securely sealed container that will be donated and served at local homeless shelters and Oakland County food pantries.
Throughout the event, in addition to tasting chicken soup from our amateur, novice and professional divisions, guests will have the opportunity to win prizes through a raffle, enjoy bagels available for purchase, listen to music and learn more about the organizations we are supporting. The afternoon will conclude with an awards ceremony for the 'best' soups in several categories, as well as the Best Decorated Table. Your participation will help feed and shelter the homeless, ensure all people impacted by cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action and sustained by community, help the TSS Young Adult Group generate new programs and help provide scholarships to religious school students.
Its easy to enter and be part of this wonderful day! We look forward to sharing this day with you and your cooking talents!
