The Fifth Direction
From spiral bound to hardbound…From humble beginnings to solid foundations…
When Temple Shir Shalom began, proudly we created our own unique and special prayer book, something we have edited and adapted for the past 28 years. Beautiful, yet constantly developing and evolving, it was spiral-bound and laminated, with an intent to be temporary.
Almost 30 years later, we are still using our spiral-bound prayer book. While it has served us well, it is the time to create a book which truly will be lasting. This will be our fifth edition of our prayer book, a hardbound, artistically created and spiritually engaging guide to connect our community in prayer, but also something that will make us all proud.
Just like our new Torah, this new prayer book will be cherished for generations to come. Please consider helping to make this dream a reality by inscribing your name or that of your loved ones. For a gift of $1,000, two prayer books will be created with your personalized dedication inscribed on the cover, one of which will remain in our sanctuary for services and the other will be your personal copy. Personalized bookplates will be another option for dedication. Look to the form on the next page for all of the details.
We hope you will take part in this next milestone in our Temple’s growth and progress.
