Welcome to Temple Shir Shalom
A Reform Synagogue serving the Metropolitan Detroit Area, we are inclusive, welcoming, and just the place for anyone with questions they want to ask, a willingness to learn, and the desire to be part of a caring community.
We Are Here to Help
Our mission, our hope, is to be here for our community. Help us help one another. If you or someone you know is ill, please let us know. If someone is in need of work, please let us know. If someone is alone, please let us know.
We don't have all the answers, but we are here for you and on this journey together. This is what it means to live in a kehilah kedosha, a holy community. Let us know with a phone call or an email to Rabbi@shirshalom.org
Adventures In-A-Bag
Join Temple Shir Shalom's The Learning Center Preschool's Virtual Learning Experience for 2 1/2-5 year olds! Adventures in-a-bag with Ms. Janet Kelly, Tuesdays 2:00-2:30pm. Scavenger hunts, collages, stories and food! Painting and more, we'll bring it to you!
During naptime? No problem! We'll record, so you can do the activity at any time! Your child(ren) will receive their own boxes, labeled and when you come to pick up your next box, return the old!
Register now for four-week sessions. You can opt-in at any time!
There is no charge for this program thanks to the generosity of The Nathan Youth Fund of Temple Shir Shalom.
Israeli Wine Club
Whether you were able to join us in November for our first Israeli wine tasting with Beni and Yonaton, or you only heard about this great opportunity, our Israeli friends now have set up a way for you to sign up and receive wine every other month, either getting 2, 4 or 6 bottles, depending on which program you choose. Once the first shipments come out, we'll coordinate and arrange for our virtual wine tasting via zoom (and are hopeful that in time, maybe we'll even be able to do this at Temple in person). It's good to feel that there actually could be some light at the end of this tunnel.
By joining this wine club, not only do you have the opportunity to enjoy great boutique Israeli wines and learn about them from the winemakers, as well as spend some time with one another and us rabbis, but it's also a beautiful way to support Israel. It's tzedakah that is quite tasty, don't you think?
Here's a video that further explains the program and the link with the specifics to sign up. Excited that we'll be able to come together over some delicious wine soon.
